* Grew up in an area of New York called Washinton Heights, which he described as "a slum with trees"

* In 1971 he attended New York High School Of Performing Arts

* Did stand-up clubs and shows like "The Jack Paar Show"

* Invited onto NBC's "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson"

* Won role of Chico in the NBC TV series "Chico and the Man"

* Show first aired on Friday, September 13, 1974 and was an immediate hit

* On the show, made famous the phrases "Loooking Goood" and "Eez not mai yob" (it's not my job)

* Did many Las Vegas shows and recorded a comedy album titled "Looking Good" between 1974 and 1976

* Married 26-year old Katherine Cochran in October of 1975

* January 28, 1977 at his Beverly Comstock Hotel room, he reportedly called his family, friends and managers and said good-bye to them all before shooting himself

* Suicide note that read "I must end it. There is no hope. I will be at peace. No one had anything to do with it. My decision totally..... Signed, Freddie Prinze"

* On life support until January 29, 1977 when his parents decided to take him off of it

* Buried on February 1, 1977 in Forest Lawn Memorial Park
