It's Easy and Totally Worth It
Email us at umichaiaa@gmail.com with your name and academic standing, and tell us a little bit about yourself! We'll do our best to get you in the chapter as soon as we can.
The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is the professional society for aerospace engineering.
The University of Michigan Student Branch seeks "to educate and excite students at U-M about aerospace technologies and science, and to promote fellowship among students interested in these topics." Our objective is "to advance the arts, sciences, and technology of aeronautics and astronautics. AIAA fosters the professional development of those engaged in scientific and engineering activities."
Being a member of Michigan's AIAA chapter opens up countless avenues in your social, academic, and professional paths.
Professional Development
Network with industry-proven alumni
Our Professional Development Committee organizes informational visits from companies eager to hire Michigan engineers, informal lunches with your favorite aerospace professors, and lectures from distinguished faculty and researchers.
Outreach
Inspire the next generation of rocket scientists
Want to give back to the community? Join us at Aerospace Day - our semiannual event celebrating our program's history - to show hundreds of elementary and middle schoolers what aerospace is all about. We also plan visits to local high schools, complete with rocket demonstrations. Check out the Outreach website!
