Luke Whack! Luke jumped as Locke kicked the door of Corwin's room nearly off its hinges. The ball Luke had tossed against the wall bounced past him uncaught.

Locke strode across the room and began grilling Luke. Connie was just standing in the doorway, mouth gaping. I'll admin I hadn't expected this tactic, but I was pretty certain Locke was not as angry as he was acting. He had hundreds of years to perfect interogation techniques. I hung back and let him work. In the end Luke admitted former wrong-doings and alliences with Jade but denied being involved in the recent crop of misdeeds. He sighted his current state of restraint - Bleys had slapped cuffs on him which kept him from using magic or pattern - as an abily for the most recent of activities.

I asked Luke what he knew about Jade. He doubted she was involved either, but sighted no evidence for this notion. He told us the Jade was formidable with both steel and magic. When I asked him to tell us something about Jade that she wouldn't want us to know he replied:

This lapsed poor Connie back into stun. Myself, I wasn't sure if Luke was completely objective on the topic. He seemed a little bitter. Luke went on to tell us Jade's M.O. He said she was totally obsessed with getting the Jewel and restoring Eric. I sighed. Fanatics are predictable but hard to deal with. Luke kept wandering the topic back to sex. I continued to try to get useful information out of him, but he didn't volunteer anything further, so we humored him and talked about women.

Connie was antsy to go on a 'field trip' to Brand's room. He seemed nervous. He didn't joke much. I could tell he was hiding something. Locke and I followed Connie to Brand's Room.

On the way Locke mentioned Luke's many attempts on Caine's life. Connie became defensive and reluctantly explained that Luke had been trying to commit suicide by attacking Caine. That's pretty sad. I'd have to watch Luke. Someone who would try suicide over 20 times could do something irrational at any time. I'm glad he's restrained instead of at-large.
