The questioning was a dull formality. Even Random was not really into it. Fiona did most of the questioning, but it shortly became clear that neither I nor Connie were a part of any conspiracy against the king.

I pressed the issue of walking the Pattern. After all, that is why I had been brought here. Fiona warned me that I should sleep first, which sounded like a wonderful idea, and that Bleys would take me to the Pattern. They explained some of the philosophy and meta behind the workings of the Pattern. When I mentioned Bleys' potato anology Random burst into laughter.

It was good to see the mood lighten. Random let Bleys and I leave, but he held Connie there for further questioning. I waved to him. 'Good luck, Konstantin.' I thought. I felt a little bad leaving the young man there, but I had business to attend to.
Here's Connie's take on the questioning

I won't go into how he did it, but after we left Random's interogation Bleys convinced me to walk the pattern without sleeping first. Oh, and he sprung a fast one on me at just the wrong time too. Still, I have to admit he probably also saved my life.
