Winter Drum Line
This group is a competitive unit combining percussive music, movement and theater.
The 2001 season is its third year, and the Winter Drum Line is a member of the
Michigan Color Guard Circuit. Rehearsals start one to two weeks after the marching
season ends, with the competitive season being from mid-January through mid-April.
Rehearsals are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturdays. Membership fees for
the Winter Drum Line are $120 per person. Any additional funding for the Winter
Drum Line comes from the members and parents fundraising, which includes working
concessions at two U-M football games. Uniforms in the past have cost
approximately $25-50. The Winter Drum Line is open to any member of the high school
band program, regardless of their primary instrument.
