Wind Symphony

(Symphonic Evening 2002)
|
Currently first hour,
Wind Symphony is a class for the student who is serious about
performing at a high level of excellence. Students are
expected to take private lessons. Wind Symphony goes on tour each year,
sometimes with Symphonic Band. There is an opportunity for international
travel approximately every three years. Thus far, international destinations
have been England/Wales (1994 & 1998) and Germany/Austria (2000).
Wind Symphony males wear tuxedos, tux shirts, cummerbunds and bow ties.
Wind Symphony females need to make a blouse (or have one made). Their long
black skirts and boleros are provided.
Shoes and socks are black in color. Black tights are recommended for females.

Jazz Band
|
This class currently meets sixth hour.
This is a small ensemble, approximately 20-25 students.
Jazz Band plays for many community events during the school year,
plays in the Winter & Spring Concerts, and has its own concert in the spring.
Jazz Band provides their own attire for performances. This commonly consists of
black shoes/black socks, black pants, and a sharp black fleece, new this year.
Recently, Jazz Band placed 22nd in the Essentially Ellington Competition!
