Evans, P. A.; Qin, J.; Robinson, J. E.; Bazin, B. Angew. Chem., Int. Ed. 2007, 46, 7417-7419.

Solvents: Step a) PtO2: This acts as a catalyst in the first step of the reaction. PhMe2SiH: This acts as the reagent being added to the alkene Step b) (ClBu2O)2O: This acts as the catalyst for transesterification. N3(CH2)4OH: This is the reagent being substituted for the methyl group during transesterificaton. PhMe: This acts as the solvent for the reaction. Step c) PPh3: This is added to the deprotonated oxygen to form a double bond leaving group. DIAD: This a great hydrogen acceptor involved in the mitsunobu reaction. HN3: Reagant being added in SN1 substitution. PhH: Toluene is used as the reflux instead of water.
