Professor Ke Gong received his Ph.D. in Technological Science from Technical University Graz (Austria) in 1986. He was elected President of Nankai University in 2011. Prior to that, he served as Vice-President of Tsinghua University and President of Tianjin University. In 2009, he was newly elected as Vice President of World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and the Chair of its Committee on Information and Communication. In 2011, he was selected one of the members of the “High Level Panel” on “Science, Technology and Innovation for Development” of UNESCO. Apart from his administrative responsibilities, he holds academic appointments as Vice President of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, Vice President of Chinese Institute of Communications, Member of the Standing Committee of China Association for Science and Technology and Deputy to the 15th National People's Congress, and Member of Standing Committee of Tianjin Municipal People's Congress. Yajie Wang is a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Education Committee. In 2006 he was appointed as the Secretary of the Party Committee for Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and in 2011 he was elected as the Director for Beijing Hi-Tech University Union launched by 11 universities. He has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, and he has spent time in the United States studying the conditions of higher engineering education. Mr. Cao obtained dual bachelor degrees in Science and Education at the Department of Radio Electronics of Beijing Normal University. From 1999-2002, Mr. Cao was assistant Director-General of the Division of General Affairs of the Ministry of Education. Professor Chen got his Ph.D. in Hematology from Shanghai Second Medical University in 1996. He worked as a visiting scholar in the Institute of Hematology, Saint-Louis Hospital, Paris in 1997, and visiting assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Mount-Sinai Medical Center, New York from 1999-2001. When he returned to China in 2001, he was appointed as the Director of the Department of Pathophysiology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and has made great contributions on the basic research of leukemia. Professor Fan was appointed as the Vice President of Shandong University in 2003. She received her Ph.D. from the Research Institute for Fiscal Science, Ministry of Finance in 1999, and is now a Professor of Economics and Ph.D. Supervisor. She was a visiting scholar at Duke University from 2001 - 2002. She is currently a member of the Steering Committee for Teaching Economics, Ministry of Education, and also serves as an executive member of both the Chinese Fiscal Science Institute and Chinese Taxation Institute. Dr. Guo has served as Executive Vice President of Dalian University of Technology since 2009 and as Vice President from 2002 - 2009. He is an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and received a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. He was visiting scholar at Chuo University of Japan in 1995 and at Oregon Graduate Institute of Science and Technology in 1998. From 2000 - 2001, he was a professorial fellow at University of Melbourne, Australia. He is the Vice President of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), and Chair of their Production Engineering Institution. Professor Han is the Vice President of Harbin Institute of Technology and also a professor at the Center for Composite Materials. He received his Ph.D. in Composite Materials and Mechanics from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1992. During 1998-1999, he was a Visiting Professor of the Royal Society Fellowship, University of Nottingham. In 2008, Professor Han was appointed as Director of the National Key Laboratory of Advanced Composite for Special Environment. Professor Kang, a physicist and an expert on Radiation Imaging, was appointed Vice President of Tsinghua University in charge of research affairs in 2004. Junsheng Li is Vice President and Professor at Central University of Finance and Economics. Professor Li oversees international graduate education and research. He received his Ph.D. in Economics in 1994 from the Graduate School of China Academy of Social Sciences. Professor Jianyong Qiao obtained a Doctor of Science degree at Fudan University. He later completed his post-doctoral research at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has acted as President of China University of Mining & Technology, Beijing since July 2003. Dr. Peijun Shi engages in the research on natural disasters and integrated disaster risk. He completed his Ph.D. in Geography at Beijing Normal University in 1988 and post doctoral work at the College of Natural Resources, University of California at Berkeley from 1995-1997. He has taken charge of more than 40 national or ministerial programs successively, published nearly 200 papers, 15 monographs, and obtained national and ministerial awards more than 20 times. Professor Tianwei Tan is a specialist in biochemical engineering, and received a Ph.D. in 1993 from the Department of Chemical Engineering in Tsinghua University. Now he is Vice President of Beijing University of Chemical Technology. In 2011, Professor Tan was elected an Academician of the Chinese Engineering Academy. Professor Tan has been mainly engaged in biochemical academia, conducting extensive researches on lipase, enzyme immobilization, and enzymatic synthesis of chemicals. Professor Wu was appointed Vice President & Dean of the Graduate School at Jilin University in 2008. He is Doctor of History. Previously, he served as the Assistant Dean of JLU Graduate School from 1996, and Assistant to the President and Executive Assistant Dean of JLU Graduate School from 2005. He has been invited to the United College, the Chinese University of Hong Kong as an advanced visiting scholar and as a researcher at the Department of Chinese Studies in 1995, and to the National Tsing Hua University of Taiwan as a guest professor in 2002. Dr. Xie graduated from Central South Mining and Metallurgical Institute (now Zhongnan University) in 1982 and went to Japan for graduate study. Dr. Yang received his Ph.D. in 1991 from Xi’an Jiaotong University. He was the Vice President of Central China Normal University, mainly in charge of research and graduate studies affairs from 2004- 2011, whereupon he was appointed as the President of Central China Normal University. Professor Zhang was appointed President of Southwest University in 2011, having previously served as Vice President of Chongqing University from 2003 - 2011. He received a Ph.D. in Management at Chongqing University in 2003, and has been active in such fields as strategic management, local economy, business administration and financial management for higher education institutes. He has hosted and completed more than 20 scientific research programs at provincial or ministerial level, some of which are enterprise sponsored.
