DEX State Competition
Friday, February 6 to Sunday, February 8
Lansing Holiday Inn West Conference Center
-Early registration starts December 1 - January 16
-Early registration is $189
-Registration starts January 17 - February 4
-After January 16th registration is $209
Fee includes: Conference fee, two night quad lodging on site, Officer/Alumni reception, light breakfast on Saturday, entertainment Saturday evening, and Sunday Semi Formal Awards Brunch.
Members will be informed of competitive events once they are finalized on the state website (www.midex.org). We will also be having state preparation workshops in January and February.
EVERYONE should consider going! It's a great opportunity, a lot of fun, and the most important event we do as a club. We will be sending a follow-up e-mail to give you more information about it!

Relay for Life

Alex Stuessy and Marissa Dangovian, your VPs of Member Development, have formed a philanthropy committee. If you are interested in being a part of it, e-mail them (Alex = astuessy@umich.edu or Marissa = msdango@umich.edu). As a club we will be forming a Relay for Life team to raise money for cancer research. Everyone in DEX will help raise money. We will hopefully have a booth at the event as well as people to walk during the event.

DEX National Competition

The culminating event of the DEX membership year is our International Career Development Conference(ICDC)! ICDC offers you the chance to engage in challenging learning activities, receive recognition for your competitive achievements, and expand your peer and business networks.
Make plans to join us for the 2009 conference in Southern California April 22-25, 2009 at the Anaheim Hilton Hotel. Details will be made available throughout the 2008-2009 membership year on the official website.

Meeting Information
Meetings and events are held approximately every other week on evenings. Please try to attend as often as possible, as there are few meetings throughout the semester and the goal of each meeting is to benefit you. We will keep attendance at most meetings, which is important in determining placement for events at competition, resume pitching, and membership awards. If you have any problems with attending a meeting, please contact us.
University of Michigan DEX is often invited to events and conferences statewide and nationwide. The Fall Leadership Conference is held by the State of Michigan DEX with DEX chapters around the state. It is usually held on a weekend in late October at the Hartley Outdoor Retreat Center in St. Charles, Michigan. There are a variety of workshops and activities that focus on team building, leadership qualities, and personal development. Food, lodging, a t-shirt, and activities are included in the cost.
