Why am I here two hours after work? Five words:

Windows Update -- Low Disk Space

    Weekend GBU

    GOOD:
  • Copius Dark Cloud 2
  • Just about broke even playing cards
Actually, I was ahead for all the actual *poker* being played, but that's another story
  • Birthday present showed up via UPS

    BAD:
  • End of the month "We're out of groceries" syndrome
  • Idiot smoker neighbors (2 weeks running)
  • Very sore heel on left foot when getting out of bed each morning

    UGLY:
  • Comcast basic cable monthly charge to increase to over 45 bucks
  • Detroit Tigers baseball (2 weeks running)
  • *insert something ugly here*

    Ravenous and Other Stuff

They came to paint the doors this morning, so I had no choice but to be awake and keep cats from making a break for it.

This did give me the opportunity to see the film Ravenous. Plainly put, it's the best movie about cannibalism you'll ever see. It's probably David Arquette's best work as well.

Told my mom that I wanted socks, drawers, and an electric toothbrush for my birthday. I'll hope I get cool gifts from people other than her. She said something to that effect, anyways, but the way I look at it is -- I need this stuff but I don't want to be the one to buy it, so they might as well be gifts!

I plan on going home soon and playing some Dark Cloud 2 -- I'm not going out on limb by suggesting that it will be the PS2 Game o' the Year.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

    GOOD:
  • Weekend on the lake with friends
  • Grapefruit allergy symptoms clearing up
  • Early bedtime = not grumpy this morning

    BAD:
  • 5 minutes after arriving at lake, pulled back muscle
I was pulling a bike out of the back of my truck. I just about screamed when it happened. It is getting better but it was NOT how I wanted to start the weekend
  • Idiot smoker neighbors
  • Dentist proclaims that some of my teeth are "mutant" teeth (not necessarily bad, I guess)

    UGLY:
  • Dentist proclaims that the area he was "watching" will need a filling
What's the point of "watching" an area that's likely to develop a cavity? How about some active countermeasures? I mean, I can only brush and floss so much
  • Detroit Tigers baseball
  • *insert something ugly here*

    Ebert on Bad Boys II

    http://www.suntimes.com/output/ebert1/wkp-news-boys18f.html

Someone must stop Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer from collaborating again. Actually, I think I just blame Michael Bay, who is a hack that should stick to 2.5 minute music videos instead of 2.5 hour bad movies.

    Hmm.

    Nerds, Dorks clash at convention

Local hookers reportedly referred to that weekend as "slowest of the year."

    Weekend

Friday night we saw the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, which was plenty o' summer movie silliness.

Satruday Allen and I saw 28 Days Later, which was very good and grim, but does not dethrone the Zombie Movie Champion.

Sunday we went out to my folks for my Dad's birthday. I had a giant grape Slurpee.

Can a Girl in an Italian Sausage Suit Take a Bat to the Head?

I can't really do this incident justice, so I'll ask you to read this report and for Christ's sake, watch the video clip.

    Busy Work
I was gonna recap the holiday weekend yesterday, but then we got ass-busy. That means it got real busy, as opposed to other, more perverted interpretations.

So July 4 rolls around. I'm sleeping in, and then we lose power. No AC, no fans. We suffer for a while and then go to the movies, just looking for somewhere to sit in cool comfort. We saw Terminator 3, which was not too shabby. After, we go home to find that the power is still out, so we go back to the movies and see Matrix 2, which was ehh. We roll home, now around 9pm, to find that the power is back on. Hooray! I grill my steaks.

July 5: We are Razy Americans.

July 6: Still lazy, tho I played some cards. Lost some money, but had fun.

    Now you're all caught up!

    Nick of Time

Last night at gaming I was telling people about the "Other Shatner Episode of The Twilight Zone," in which his character and his wife are stranded in a small town and encounter some kind of fortune-telling device.

Amazingly enough, later that evening that very episode was on! You can check out the details here. I'd say this one is just as good, if not better, than "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet."

    KHAN!

I found this in Brandon's webspace:

I decided to make it my desktop image, and then it superdeformed and made the image even cooler!
