    Roll Tide!

So my coworker, friend, soon-to-be neighbor and "my boy" Pherph looked me up in the Alumni Directory as part of some kind of 'Find a Friend' service they rolled out, and here's all it had on me:

  • AB SecEd '96
  • Florence, Alabama 35633

Curious. They believe I live in Alabama. How did they get this information? Attempts to ask them have prompted two answers:

  • "We don't know."
  • "You must have changed it."

I have been told that the change to "Proud Resident of Ann Arbor, MI, 48108" will be active next week. Considering I don't give them any money, I may be living in Tucumcari, New Mexico by next Wednesday.

    Downturn...

Things taking a slight downturn lately. Wrangling all the crap we have holed up in our basement; ruined two shirts in the wash (including the beloved All Your Base t-shirt); Big list of things to work on in the house once it's in our possesion (but the inspector guy was the best, don't get me wrong); got destroyed playing cards live and online this weekend; and my knee and foot are both acting up.

I guess the hope is the act of listing them will act to purge them, and things will swing towards the good again.

One good thing: Brad Meltzer's Identity Crisis -- good stuff there.

    Your Monthly Update

Is it June already? I'd say there wasn't much to report, but that would be a lie. I don't know if it is me being lazy or whatnot.

Over the last couple of weeks, Julie and I were on another "we're not going anywhere, but we're not going to work" vacation. It was full of copious video game playing, reading, and general laziness.

However, during this time as we were looking at houses we actually found one that both of us liked, so what the heck? - we lowballed an offer for it. They weren't having any of that, but they countered, then we countered until we came to terms. There it was -- we are buying their house*.

It's on Torrey, which connects Packard and Washtenaw, a few blocks east of Carpenter. Here's a picture.

So if all goes well we will have the better part of three months(!) to move into the house. Even though we have a lot of time, my current project is to throw away, recycle, donate or just plain give away things that we (I) are not using.
We have a lot of books, some games, VHS movies, and some CDs that gotsta go. I'll try to post a list or something -- anyone who will cart them away are welcome to them.

(* - if nothing falls through, they don't change their minds, we get our mortgage, the stars align, etc.)
