    Good, Bad, Ugly

Good: Playing some classic Final Fantasy VII (especially good to revisit old games since the house took all my money).

Bad: You might have thought the email outage was annoying for you, the end user -- well, today wasn't exactly a carnival at work. We set another call record in the span of a couple of hours.

Ugly: My fantasy team has yet to produce a win. Best player is questionable this weekend.

Good: Even though I'm out of money already, I'm keeping my spending discipline in check.

Bad: There's about a bazillion things I'd like to buy both useful and frivolous.

Ugly: Speaking of spending, Christmas is going to suck in terms of presents this year. I'm apologizing already.

Good: It's Fall -- chilly nights, cider and donuts, football of all varieties, crunching on falling leaves, halloween...

Bad: This September I have earned all of my pay for the entire year.

Ugly: October ain't promising to be all that different

    Good: Kirkman's The Walking Dead

    Bad: Bendis' Avengers

Ugly: [Hmm, I have no quibble with any ugly comic art lately, so maybe we'll end on a high note. Feel free to suggest someone.]

That's My Story and I'm Sticking To It

This Labor Day weekend I was on my own, as the lovely Julie was out of
town (would she be eaten while she was there?) and various others were out
and about. Left plenty of time to take care of house chores -- mowing,
pruning, etc. My folks came to town after the football game and we got
the dryer hooked up and the water line to the fridge working, so now
there's a glacier of ice available for your favorite beverage.

Sunday I got the barbeque set up and unpacked some stuff, finished a
couple of books and played Nintendo.

Somewhere in there I spent some time doing some laundry and making sure
the gas was hooked up to the dryer right. While that was going on I began
to sort through several years worth of Lego -- picking out all of the
minifigs, etc. -- since now that I have a nice basement I can follow in
the footsteps of the incredible Allen's LEGOroom.

Monday being a holiday I was woked up by the Julie surviving her trip to
Boston. We grilled and I pulled a muscle in my back just by taking a
shower, which is sad. In fact, I think that breaks the previous Lamest
Muscle Pull record which was set a few years ago when I was putting on my
    boots.

I do have to mention a very cool thing that DirecTV has provided for me --
the TRIO Network shows classic reruns of
the old Late Night with David Letterman show that ran on NBC from 1982
till about 1993. I started watching around 1987... I think it was the
summer before high school started and WDIV would preempt the show until
like 1:35, which probably explains why I'm such a night owl now. Not only
was Dave revolutionary for late night programming at that time, the shows
were hilarious -- the humor was very sharp and biting for those of you
youngsters who only remember Letterman since he's been on CBS.

Anwyays, work is still busy, which is why this is being posted at
    o-dark-hundred.
