The Life Cycle of your Blog

This weekend I was able to dupe Dann into going with me to see Jason X. I can tell you that this film was probably the most unintentionally funny movie I've ever seen. I can also tell you that I should probably give Dann 8.50 to compensate him for his time (Maybe I'll just buy his ticket for Halloween 8 in a few months, altho that promises to have no comedy potential.)

Oh, this movie also carried on the proud tradition of modern filmmaking that, in the far future, everyone will use Apple computers.

Why do Porn Actors Have to Use Such Foul Language?

Fark Photoshop Contest: Design your own Magic Card

Last night I went over to Allen's house to watch a little NBA Playoff action. Both games were good -- the Pistons holding off Toronto was good for the hometown fans here -- but the best part was in the late game when Dallas layed 122 points on Minnesota. Once upon a time the Mavericks would give you free Taco Bell if they scored over a hundred points, but with the rules changes toward increased scoring that was abandoned. However, Allen and I decided that if the Mavericks scored 120 we'd go buy some tacos -- and so we did, at 12:20 in the morning. Mmmmm, late night indigestion.

    To: Mr. Driller

It's hard to watch A Cook's Tour this late at night followed by going to bed. My stomach is howling in protest, especially since I'm trying to only give it healthy things. Maybe someday in the future I can take some lessons -- hell, maybe gain entrance to the CIA. I feel so limited and stifled standing in front of our stove sometimes.

    April's Assbag* of the Month!

Dave and Steve's Video Game Explosion!

Last night there was some kind of big accident on US 23, and thus I had to detour out towards Superior Township and then come back towards my side of town. This was pretty ordinary until I saw a guy out near EMU's athletic campus practicing throwing a javelin.

Fark has quite a few stories of note today:

  • Something Awful has a story (Thursday April 18) called, simply, "Thank You Very Much, Internet!!!" Required reading.

  • Mike Fratello and Marv Albert in Car Crash -- doh!

  • Naked Mile Dead: Well congratulations, University of Michigan, you got what you wanted and killed a longstanding tradition. I might be able to accept it if you were just truthful about why you wanted to shut it down -- it was never about safety of participants, it was about control. You just couldn't stand to have a situation that you have no power over, and thus had to start threatening kids with jailings and "marks on your permanent record that won't let you get a gov't job in the future."

I have to stop writing this now, the jack-booted thugs have come to take me off for re-education.

    Which 80's Hairband are you?

    I am WHITESNAKE!

I totally ripped off Best Buy this weekend, much to Dann's delight, I'm sure. They had Heroes of Might and Magic IV on sale for 35 bucks and I was able to get a clueless drone at the register apply a 20% off coupon to that. Huzzah!

Spring is here finally, and along with it was Masters coverage all weekend. While my boy Duval missed the cut, the coverage was great until Sunday's coverage, which was brutal. Ah well.

On the trip back from my folks' house, I think I saw a deer and possibly someone getting a handjob in a car that was erratically weaving in and out of traffic. (Remember kids, don't fool around and drive.)

In spite of all that I did not have a fun time this weekend mostly because I've been stricken with horrible insomnia, which will probably end up destroying me by about ten o'clock tonight. Yikes.

Alrighty, with nice weather finally here it's time for a little spring cleaning on my Favorites file:

  • Homestar Runner : Probably the best Flash cartoons out there with the added bonus of veing hilarious -- plus the artists update content all the time. Be sure to have your sound turned on. Everybody, Everybody!

  • The Official Ninja Webpage : When I read this page, I get so pumped that I almost kick my mom in the face!

Not an exciting weekend. Well, dropping a plate of spaghetti on the floor is vaguely exciting.

    Am I Ninja or Not?

Julie and I went down to Sam's Club last night to do some grocery shopping. I usually buy a box of Hot Pockets to use as daily lunch fodder when I'd noticed that the box said that these were new and improved Hot Pockets -- and instead of taking 2:30 to heat, they now took only 2 minutes.

This confused me. What changed, other than the packaging, to reduce the cooking time by twenty percent?

The funniest part was when Jules predicted that in the future, Hot Pockets would have a little pull-cord hanging out of the package that, when yanked, would inflate the little packaging bag and instantly heat the Hot Pocket to proper temperature levels.

Here's a pretty good roundup of prank pages today.

Julie and I ran out of food this weekend, and I wasn't planning on going out to my folks for Easter dinner, but they were more than happy to have us.

Now, my family is nuts. Not my parents -- they're extremely normal and well adjusted. However, when you throw my grandparents, who are always yelling at each other, into the mix, along with my brothers, one of which tries to play the piano and fails miserably, and the other who is just a troublemaker altogether, cacaphony levels hit critical mass. It's all in good fun, though -- there's no family hatred or rivalries or anything like that going on.

So today is April Fools' Day, and it's totally ridiculous this year, as any yahoo with a web site feels the need to try to pull something. Just today I've read about Osama Bin Laden being captured, Space Nerd Wil Wheaton claiming to be "acting" again, etc. This is sad. I think more people are following the directives of a made-up holiday as opposed to something like, oh I don't know, Easter.

    Bah Humbug!
