who we are
The purpose of Huaren Cultural Association is to increase understanding and awareness of Huaren culture. We host an annual culture show that is both true to Chinese roots and entertaining for students on campus and the surrounding community. We also stress the importance of education, diversity, and equal representation on campus through various initiatives and events that we host.
People of Huaren decent are from everywhere - Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and etc. Huaren Cultural Assocation's goal is to unite a diverse group of students on campus to work on a cultural show and to be a voice for the Huaren community. This also gives us a chance to educate non-Huaren people on Huaren culture and history and strengthen ties with the University of Michigan community in general.
