P92/SAV/0602 is a parchment-bound folio of some 48 leaves, containing miscellaneous items. It has two 'front covers', with content beginning at – and meant to be read from – either end. It contains no folio numbering, and about half the pages, apart from those at either end, are blank. At the 'front' end, items 1 through 4 below are entered; reversed, items 5 through 9 are entered from the other end. There is an index of names.

Md that there be 4: pore of the Colledge their places
belonge to the Clinke Liberty and parish garden liberty
vizt Clinke Libertye alwayes have two places & the
first & second place of the third place & parish garden
have allwayes one place, & the thirde place of a third
place, soe that this yeare 1614 the Clinke liberty^vpper ground^ hath
had the two place of a this thirde place, & the next
voydance of any of the 4 places belongeth to the
parish garden^Clinke Liberty^ & then the course cometh^followeth^ againe the
2 places for ye Clinke liberty to the third place vpon
voydance to the vpper grownd for that att one tyme
the vpper grownde, & to have two pore & the Clinke
Liberty two pore att one & the same tyme tyme And
then the Clinck liberty come to have 3 places
all, two places be fallen voyde & supplied &
& the thirde voydance to the vpper grownde

The Clinke Liberty had the place for fathr derry
And then thorder abovesaid was concluded vpon in the vestry
in Ao 1608 after wch the sd Liberty had a place

This Indenture made betwixt the right Reuerend
father in god Richard Bishopp of winchester and
Bartillmew Lynsted Prior of the Priorie of St
Mary Overy in Sowthwarke in the Cowntie of
Surrey on the one partie and Richard Ryall John
Wayte Andrew Atkinson Harrie Perche Richard
Kellett Thomas Phillipson John Horworth John

Brewers of the Bourowgh of Sowthwarke aforesaid
on the other partie, Witnesseth that the said Bishop
and Prior vppon great labour and diligent suite
by the said Brewers oftentimes made, haue graunted
and given Licence to every one of the said Brewers
that they and every one of them shall haue passage
with theire Cartes from the said Borough of
Sowthwarke vntill the Themmys, that is to saie
in the way leadinge from the said Borough from to
the Themys betwixt the Mannor of Sowthwarke
perteyninge to the said Bishopp and the Tenementes
Church yard of mary magdalens and Church
perteyninge to the said Pryorie to fetch water with
theire Cartes to brew with every one to theire owne
houses onlie, at all tymes hereafter without lett
or impedimt of the said Bishopp and Pryor or of any
of them or of theire Officers as longe as the said
Brewers pretend not ne clayme the said passage
to be an hie waye, And the saide Brewers
Covenanten and graunten and every one of
them for himselfe Covenanteth and graunteth by
theise presentes to the said Bishopp and Prior if they

or any of them at any time hereafter Clayme the said
passage with theire Cartes to fetch theire water in at the
Themys in other forme or otherwise then by Licence
and sufferance of the Bishop and Prior, and that
proved by twoe Wittnesses before the said Bishopp
and Pryor or any of them or theire Successors, that then
the said Brewers will and graunt that they or any of
them soe doinge or clayming shall not from thenceforth vse
nor carrie with theire Cartes or Cart noe longer the
said waye, but that they and or any of them vsinge
the said waye with theire Cartes or Cart to the Themys
after the said proofe made against them or him shalbe
reputed aqnd taken as Trespassors or Trespassor in
the Law to the Bishopp and Prior and to either of
them by theise presentes without Argumt or Condtradiccion
by them or any of them so doing to be made to the
Contrary, ffor the wch graunt and Licence every
one of the aboue named Brewers haue delivered
and payed to the said Bishopp and Prior toward ye
reparacions of the said Waye Sixe Shillings and eight
pence sterlings at the sealing of theise present Indentures,
And over that the said Brewers Covenanten and
graunten and every one of them for himselfe covenan
=teth and graunteth by theise presentes to the said Bishopp
and Prior and to theire Successors, that they the said
Brewers and every one of them for the vsinge of ye
said waye in forme abousaid with theire Cartes shall
yea[r]lie paie during theire lyves from the date of theise
presentes paie to the said Bishopp and Prior and to
theire Successors in the daye of the nativitie of St
John Baptist or within fower dayes nexte after the
said nativitie xijd of good and lawfull money of
England And for nonpaymt thereof for at the time
aforelymited the said Brewers graunten and euery
one of them graunteth by theise presentes, that it shalbe
lawfull to the said Bishopp and Prior and to theire
Successors and to euery one of them, and to the Assigne

Brewers graunten and euer one of them graunteth
that no other person or persons by Colour Assent or
supportation of the said Brewers or nor of any of them
nor yet the said Brewers nor any of them doe
carrie nor vse the said waye with theire Cartes for
water but onlie every of them for himselfe to theire
owne houses onlie, and not to the house of noe other
person nor persons vppon penaltie & forfeiture to them
or him that soe doeth or doe the advantage of this
