The world famous San Diego Zoo was the first Zoo that did not put their animals in cages like they were in jail. Now many other zoos have copied the model of open enclosures, but it is still nice to see the original.

There are a few dozen museums in Balboa Park, just south of the Zoo.

The Museum of Man is in one of the more famous buildings.

The Museum of Man is dedicated to the study of human evolution and also has several archeological exhibits.

This includes a shrine to Dr. Henry Jones, Jr.
