How to Experience an Alternative Spring Break

When I was living at home with my parents, going on vacation was an easy thing to do. I was told where we were going and when. All I had to do was pack, show up, and have a good time. Unfortunately my college years have not been graced with these lazy and inexpensive vacations. It's not that I didn't have great ideas or awesome opportunities to go places that I have never been, but when I had to make the plans and foot the bill, vacations became far and few between. As spring break keeps creeping up, as the winter days drift by, some people are excited to fly away to dreamy destinations. Others, like myself, may find their selves staring out windows at the similar landscape of their hometown or college residence. It may not be warm, it may not be new, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun. Here are some ideas to spruce up a spring break if your destination may not be as exciting as you had hoped.
-Enjoy doing absolutely nothing.
-Rent a full season of a good TV show, and when the end of the show leaves you hanging, just grab the next disk.
-Sleep in!
-Rearrange furniture for a new outlook in your room or other living space.
-Go to a concert.
-See 2 movies in 1 day. Wild!
-Go to Canada. It might not be warm but hey, it's a change of scenery.
-Work out, may be you won't be tan but being fit is even better.
-Get ahead on your homework. Yes, this isn't a fun thing at all but when all your friends come back from break and have a ton to do, you can sit back and smile.
-Go shopping. You may not be somewhere new but you can buy something new.
-Go doing something active- skiing, ice-skating, rock climbing, you get the picture.
-Read something that's not for school.
-Try a new restaurant, or three.
-Call an old friend; catch up.
-Go to a new store, museum, or bar.
-How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?
-Write a list of things to do before you die, try and do one or two.
-Play a prank on a friend.
-Build up your resume. Volunteer.
-Play a game: board games, online games, mind games.
-Revert to your childhood activities- you could revisit your old play days with play dough.
-Work. You gotta make that money.
- Go to a pet store and look at all the cute animals.
-Go antique shopping and get a new old thing.
-Get a massage.
-Get a new pet, maybe a fish.
-Make an interesting answering machine message.
-Look at old photo albums and reminisce.
-Go Bowling!
-Go see a family member. Grandma and Grandpa would love to see your face.
-Have an exotic drink, with an umbrella and everything.
- Plan a party for after break so the fun never stops.
