As Filipino Americans in today's diverse society, we must take proactive measures to empower ourselves in the new millennium. The best way of grasping the past and determining the future is by taking control of the present. We must act now; make change beginning today, not tomorrow, not someday -- today.

Change can start with one person -- you. There is no better time than now to be introspective and to become aware of the multi-faceted issues that affect us as Filipino Americans.

The MAFA 2000 student conference will challenge our preconceived notions regarding the complexity of being Filipino Americans in today's society. Workshops and forums will equip us with the resources, knowledge, and understanding necessary to make a positive impact today and in the future.
