About
The Peer Academic Advising Office
The Peer Academic Advising Office features a staff of experienced and highly trained UM undergraduates ready to help other UM undergraduates on a wide variety of issues. In particular, the PAAO staff is prepared to talk to students about course selection, Wolverine Access/registration questions, time-management, study skills, graduate school, and choosing a concentration. The PAAO has a number of college and post-graduate guide books, information about business, law school, and medical school.
This year the PAAO staff and the Peer Advising staff from the UM Career Center offered joint academic advising and career advising appointments that can be scheduled through the UM Career Center by calling 764-7460. In addition, the PAAO has a limited number of old exams that are available for students to copy and use as study guides in their classes. Although the exam files and peer advisors are mainly focused on LSA, students from all colleges and schools are welcome to come by.
Peer advisors also put on various events throughout the semester (with free food and drinks) in order to promote resources and visibility. Office hours are generally Monday – Friday 11:00 – 5:00; times vary slightly each term.
