October 15th and 16th 2005, 2-3 pm, Dunedin Public Art Gallery
We are sharing stories and
images from community dance sessions at the Otago Community Hospice, and from
Dance with a Difference workshops which were particularly accessible to people
who experience pain and discomfort.
Through movement and visual art, we explored our landscapes, our connections
to the land through Maori and Pakeha stories, and we created maps of life and
death.
As part of the installation,
viewers can participate in ten-minute performances: 2.10 and 2.30 (Saturday),
2.10 (Sunday)
Sunday only: thirty-minute gentle movement workshop session, open to all: 2.30-3
All events are free. Join us for an exploration of movement as storytelling!
Facilitated by Petra Kuppers as the first Caroline Plummer Fellow in Community Dance, University of Otago.
