Past Campaigns
Students for PIRGIM (Public Interest Research Group in Michigan) has a rich history, with such notable achievements as helping get the Bottle Bill passed.   • Accessory Dwelling Units - Winter 2004
        - "Unfortunately, current ordinances do not allow home owners to rent out independent housing units within their own home. This unfairly limits homeowners from creating an additional source of income and also limits the affordable housing..."


  • Hunger and Homelessness - Fall 2003
        - "It is estimated that 3 million people in the U.S. are homeless... Our campaign against hunger and homelessness culminated in four events during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week... with the support of a coalition of other organizations..."


  • Urban Sprawl - Fall 2003
        - "Michigan's open spaces, such as our farmlands, wetlands and other natural areas are critical for wildlife habitat and clean drinking water..."

  • Youth Vote - Recurring Campaign, each fall

  • Clean Water - Winter 2003
        - "We went directly to Lansing last year to talk to our state representatives about charging companies for permits to pollute Michigan's waters..."

  • Kyoto Now - Winter 2002
