Successful Use of Fiber-reinforced Composites for Chairside Applications

Thursday, March 22, 2012: 12:15 p.m.-1:30 p.m.
Session Type: Lunch and Learning
1.25 CE hours

Sponsored by: Dental Materials
Description: Recently use of fibre-reinforced composites (FRC) for dental applications has increased. Use of FRC materials allows fixed partial dentures to be designed in a new tissue-saving and biomechanically optimized way.  The anisotropic properties of FRCs, requirements foroptimum reinforcement and possible clinical applications will be discussed.
Learning Objectives:
Introduction to the use of fibers for various applications.
Changes in the attitute of clinicians to the solution of dental problems; utilizing new technlogies
