Steven Allen
Class of 2009 | Biomedical Engineering
Steve is an undergraduate student in the Biomedical Engineering department. He plans to complete his Bachelor's degree in three years and earn a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering his fourth year. After the Master's, he would like to attend an M.D./Ph.D. program and pursue a career in oncological medical research. He has already started his path in cancer research as an undergraduate at UofM in Professor Takayama's research lab. Currently, he is working on a device that will better model how chemotherapies are delivered to micro-metastasis in the body in addition to assisting a graduate student with his research on prostate cancer cell chemotaxis. It is always exciting research, and every week he gains valuable practical experience.
Outside research, Steve likes to play on the co-ed flag football and inner-tube water polo teams with the Shipman Society and compete in the swimming and diving meet with the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. You can also find him every Football Saturday at the Big House cheering for the Wolverines!
