Important change regarding ClariNet newsgroups
The ITCS Usenet service has maintained a license to distribute articles
from the ClariNet Usenet groups to campus for a number of years now.
These groups (begining with clari.*) contain traffic from news sources
such as the Associated Press wire service.
Because this information is already available through the University
Library system, and partially due to budget considerations, ITCS will
no longer be providing ClariNet articles to the University community.
While these usenet groups may continue to have intermittent traffic in
the coming month, they will be entirely removed from the ITCS newsfeed
on Feb. 9, 2004. Other usenet heirarchies should not be affected by
this change.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
An alternative source for information formerly available via the
ClariNet news groups is the LexusNexus database, available through the
University Library system:
