Israel
has the most humane army in the world.
(May 16, 2002. Credit: Eitan Behar) Take a good hard
look at this photo. It's from Maariv, an Israeli daily.
The caption reads: "IDF soldier provides water
to one of the terrorists who were captured on their
way to carry out a bombing in Israel."
The facts:
there were 5 of them. 2 were carrying explosive belts.
There was a further 17 kilograms of TNT in the trunk
of their car.
In my
opinion, it is deserving of a Pulitzer Prize...because
it captures the complete essence of the behavior of
IDF soldiers throughout Operation Defensive Shield.
These are the kind of soldiers who captured Jenin...who
fought around the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem...who
surrounded the Muk'ata in Ramallah and cleaned it up
before departing.
