Anything
goes when it comes to making Garden Park a more interesting and fun
place to be. What better way than to use art?! In the park
it seems that nothing is spared
from being painted. This is a picture of just one of the two
basketball hoops at the park's basketball court. As
you can see, the backboard and even the pole that holds the hoop up,
are decoratively painted. Mr. Valdez and Ms. Herbeck did all the
painting and even made the backboard. Across the street in the
background you can see the mural that is painted on the cement
barricades at the corner of Vernor Street and
Fisher Freeway West. We
called this mural the "Corner Mural" on the main page of the Detroit
Murals. Rising
even farther in the background of this
picture is the Ambassador Bridge that
connects the United States with Canada.
