Asian InterVarsity Christian Fellowship was founded for the purpose of reaching Asian students for Christ and specifically focusing on the needs of these students. We believe that the only valid purpose for an ethnic specific group is outreach and discipleship, but we welcome everyone. Our intent in forming has never been exclusion or "comfort," but rather the very practical reason that Asians are more effective at reaching Asians than other groups. We hope and pray that God will be able to use us in breaking down cultural and familial barriers that stand between people and Christ, and make disciples in His name. In achieving this, we also make every effort to maintain a spirit of openness and intimacy in fellowship with each other and God.
