Pascal John Hall was the salutatorian for the Willow Run High School class of 1998 and attended the University of Michigan, where he became a brother of the Epsilon Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc. During his time at the University of Michigan, Pascal (or Cal, as his fraternity brothers called him) excelled scholastically, socially, and athletically. As a black belt, he won international competitions in Taekwondo but was extremely modest about such accomplishments.
As the Community Service Chair for Epsilon Chapter, he helped coordinate campus volunteers for the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti Chapter of the NAACP tutorial program serving at-risk students in local elementary, middle and high schools. In 2002, he graduated from the College of Engineering and went on to serve his country as a member of the armed forces.
As an officer in the United States Marine Corps, received numerous commendations for excellence, served two tours of duty in Iraq, and achieved the rank of Sergeant before his service ended in 2006.
In July 2009, he finished his 6-month training period and became a United States Secret Service Officer assigned to the Uniform Division, whose chief duty is the protection of The President of the United States, the Vice President, their families, residences (including The White House) and associated complexes used by the president.
On Tuesday, August 25, 2009, Pascal John Hall was struck by a motorist in Washington, D.C., while riding his motor-cycle home from an after-work, physical training session. He was immediately placed on life support. In death, he saved five lives as an organ donor.
