Let us jump ahead a few centuries to the Autumn collegiate semester in the year 2001. I must introduce you to the bright youngsters who have brought a little intellectual light into your humdrum lives. These undergraduate students at the University of Michigan spent many hours in the computer lab producing this webpage for Professor David Porter's English 371 class on Eighteenth-Century British literature, so you had better take some time to get to know each and every one of them!

John Schietinger is a junior English major at the University of Michigan. He was born in Houston, Texas, grew up in the middle of Ohio, and then got shipped up to the Great Lakes state. John likes to have a good time with his friends. When he was not working on this web page, John was studying or listening to Talk Talk on his enormous earmuff headphones.

During the fall semester of 2001, you might have seen Molly Kennedy rushing from class to tutoring to play rehearsal with her stack of thesis books and papers flying out of her backpack. As a senior English major at the University of Michigan, she hopes to pursue a career in journalism after graduation or attain fame as an Iron Chef.
