WHAT ARE .MP3 FILES AND WHERE DO I GET THE SOFTWARE?
mp3, similar to wav, is
a file extension that is recognized by the computer as an audio file. The wav extension is a file that can
be read by most web browsers. However, wav files are rather large and take a while to download. Most sound
applications have the ability to play mp3 files, which are much smaller and are therefore quicker
to download. Therefore, mp3 files are opted for in this CD-ROM.
If you would like to get one of these mp3 players, go to
http://www.mp3.com or
http://www.quicktime.com.
WHAT DO I DO WITH THE SOFTWARE ONCE I DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL IT?
The web browser has a default application that opens the mp3 files.
One can change which application the web browser uses to open up the mp3 files.
In order to do this, go to the help menu of your web browser and type in "applications".

WHAT IF THE BROWSER SAVES IT INSTEAD OF OPENING IT?
The web browser has in it default values of how that web browser will
open a .mp3 files. Some web browsers save to the desktop or open the sound file directy from your web page.
I recommend that you change it so the web browser will open up the mp3 files directly from the web.
