Roll
Film
Microfilm
rolls are available for self-service access in the Open Reserve
Area, located in the Sub-2 Core area.
Call numbers for roll film begin with FILM or FILM S- and
usually end with a number by which the film is filed in the
self-service cabinets located by the reader-printers.
The New York Times
and U.S. Federal Register
on roll film, however, have the call number FILM with no ending
number and are shelved by title.
Fiche: Request at the Circulation Desk on
Sub-2
Call numbers for microfiche begin with Micro 7,
Micro 10 or Micro 10 S-.
We
do not lend our original microfiche.
Instead we will locate the fiche you need and make a
microfiche copy of the original.
You may then view and/or print pages from it on the 3
reader/printers located in the Open Reserve area.
The copy is yours to carry with you until you are done; then
you may discard it.
Microfiche
are copied as needed. It
takes about 10 minutes to copy up to 3 or 4 fiche.
If you need more fiche, staff can continue to copy while you
read those fiche already copied.
To
request fiche, fill out a Microfiche Request Form and submit it at
the Circulation Desk on Sub-2.
Because information needed to select the right fiche varies
from title to title, it may be necessary for staff at the
Circulation Desk to refer you the Reference Desk for further
assistance in identifying fiche.
For more information, see Obtaining
Microforms (pdf).
