Reinventing Your Weekend
By Ashley Gork

Breathe students, it's the weekend! Time to repute, refresh, and reinvent. We've all partied Charlie's, drank at Rick's, and shopped around the racks at Urban Outfitters. Been there. Done that. Forget the ole' cheap beer with the ole' cheap hangover. Let's do something new, something different; Let's redo the thrills of the weekend and make Ann Arbor an exhilarating and intoxicating place again!
Looking for some old school excitement?
Travel back to the 1980s and check Pinball Pete's on S. University. Here you can challenge your friends to a rowdy game of air hockey, shoot some killer zombies, and experience a local party just down the street. The best part? All you need is your left-over change for a good time!
Looking for a cheap motion picture?
Go see a matinee at the Ann Arbor Senior Center. There is a new movie every Friday for only $2.50. If you are lucky, you might get some free applesauce thrown in as well! Not your style? Go to the movie complex at Briarwood. Slightly older movies are shown for only a dollar! ($.50 on Mondays and Tuesdays).
Looking for a fall-flavored challenge?
Every Friday thru Sunday (6pm-10pm), go summon your survival skills at Talladay Farms Corn Maze. Bring a flashlight as you travel through the 10 miles of winding ways and search for the way out. Just don't get lost, there may be no one to get you out!
Looking for a real romantic date?
Every Saturday and Sunday the UM Exhibit Museum Planetarium on N. University puts on three different audiovisual shows to titillate the mind. Go engross yourself in the night stars without catching that awful fall cold or getting those itchy bug bites!
Looking for an original Halloween costume?
Head out on W. Michigan Ave and check out Value World or S. State to shop the Salvation Army. They got absolutely everything you need to stand out and get noticed. (Also good to keep in mind for themed parties!).
Looking for a relaxing or spiritual Sunday activity?
Go grab some tea at Crazy Wisdom Bookroom and Tea Room on Main Street. Here you can relax on some overstuffed chairs, try a new type of tea, and engage in books ranging from body-mind therapies to psychology and alternative spiritual practices.
Looking for a raging nightclue...on Monday?
Necto Nightclub, located on Liberty St., is open seven days a week! With VIP rooms and extended Happy Hours on weekends, Necto is the perfect place to party on! Make sure to plan out which night you want to attend: Keep in mind that Mondays are Gothic nights, and Thursdays are open to students under 21 and Friday nights are dedicated to Gay Pride.
Looking for a little culture?
Go and actually check out some of Ann Arbor's museums. My suggestion? Explore your inner child at Ann Arbor’s Hands-On Museum. With over 250 interactive exhibits, the museum has the power to enchant any inquisitive mind. Who says Hands-On Museums are just for Kids?
Looking for a cool place to chill with your friends?
Go grab a hooka and some black coffee at the ever-so-Euro-Chic Rendezvous on S. University. The best part is the view! Grab a seat by the balcony so you can watch the Ann Arbor nightlife.
