Second Life Safari

This workshop is a 'bootcamp' for virtual worlds, offering an introduction to the digital world of Second Life (SL). Attendees are provided with a comprehensive, hands-on orientation to the basic operations of SL and engage in a learning simulation and role-playing activity. The group explores some of the educational uses being pursued within SL and discuss the pros and cons that are emerging as the technology evolves.

Second Life - Basic Building

This workshop goes one step beyond the Safari. Now that attendees have a basic understanding of SL through the Safari, the Basic Building workshop offers attendees the chance to learn the basic skills associated with creating 3D objects in the SL world. Attendees participate in a hands-on introduction to begin to 'lift the hood' to reveal the inner workings of SL.
