To fix this, click on the options button and increase the delay setting. The delay is measured in milliseconds. Thus if you enter a delay of 1000, then the movie applet will display one frame a second.
Making the movie run faster, however, depends on how good your machine is. You can decrease the Delay, but if the machine is slow it won't make it run any faster. In fact, it may run slower, or it will run but the frames will be updated in a "jerky" manner.
