Activities: Palmetto Dunes is a semi-tropical oceanfront vacation resort that is ideal for year-round activities. It is the only resort that has won three of the Mobil Four Star ratings, making it the only resort in history to earn that rating. The lagoon system is a unique feature. It is made up of 11 miles of interconnecting lagoons & waterways that wind throughout the plantation. Barrington's heated swimming pool is just steps away. Mature vegetation provides filtered shade throughout the day. The ocean and beach is right out the door with miles of private beach. Golfing on 28 championship courses offers challenge for every skill level and other activities include tennis, biking, walking, miniature golf, horseback riding, boating, fishing jet-skiing, windsurfing and kayaking plus many opportunities for concerts, cultural activities and shopping. The Information Center just as you leave the bridge onto the island provides information and tickets for local outdoor activities.

Off island are numerous possibilities for "day-trips."  Beaufort and Savannah are only a short drive, while historic Charleston is about 90 minutes away.
