
Officer Duties
President
He/she is the principal officer and is responsible for leading the Chapter and
managing its activities in accordance with the policies and procedures of the
ACM and these bylaws. The President shall preside at all meetings of the
chapter and of its Executive Council. The Executive Council shall consist of
the Chapter officers, the Student Chapter Sponsor, and chairs of the Chapter's
standing committees. Duties pertaining to the University of Michigan include
attending UMEC presidents meetings, arranging mass meetings on campus and
maintaining good communications with U of M faculty, staff and other student
groups. The President will also be in charge of the master contact list for
industry contacts.
The Vice President
He/she shall preside at meetings in the absence of the President, assist the
President in the management of the Chapter, and perform other duties that may
be assigned by the President. 1. Duties pertaining to the University of
Michigan include attending regular UMEC meetings.
The Secretary
He/she shall keep the minutes of all Chapter and Executive Council meetings and
shall preside at meetings in the absence of the Vice President. Other duties of
the Secretary include:

Maintaining the records of the Chapter.

Preparation of the Chapter's activity report and officer contact information,
and submission of these to ACM Headquarters.

Submission of any proposed amendment to these bylaws to the Presidents of the
Membership Activities Board. Proposed amendments must be approved before they
can be submitted to the Chapter's membership for a vote.

Perform other duties as assigned by the President.

Duties pertaining to the University of Michigan include attending regular UMEC
meetings and keeping and maintaining the e-mail lists.
The Treasurer
He/she shall collect dues, pay all bills, and maintain the Chapter's financial
records. Duties of the Treasurer also shall include:

Preparation of the Chapter's Annual Financial Report for presentation to the
Chapter at the Annual Election meeting.

Completion and submission of the Annual Financial Report to ACM Headquarters.

Performance of other duties as assigned by the President.

Duties pertaining to the University of Michigan include attending UMEC
treasurer meetings, applying and maintaining funding through both the MSA and
UMEC.
The Publicity Chair
He/she is in charge of organizing and creating publicity materials for all
SIGGRAPH events including (but not limited to) meetings and workshops. The
Publicity Chair will lead the Publicity Committee on all matters, but must gain
approval of the President on all major matters. The 3D Software Director
He/she will be in charge of running any 3D modeling application workshops
including (but not limited to) 3D Studio MAX and Maya. The 3D Director will
arrange for space and all materials needed to prepare the workshops. In
addition, with the help of the Projects Committee, the 3D Director will run the
workshops and announce them to the group.
The Software Programming Director
He/she will be in charge of running any programming workshops including (but
not limited to) OpenGL and DirectX. The Software Director will arrange for
space and all materials needed to prepare the workshops. In addition, with the
help of the Projects Committee, the Software Director will run the workshops
and announce them to the group.
The Webmaster
He/she is in charge of maintaining and updating the SIGGRAPH web site.
Including both the U of M web space (umich.edu/~siggraph) as well at space
provided by ACM (umichsc.siggraph.org). The Webmaster must make sure all data
presented on the web pages is accurate and current as well as make changes
suggested by the President or other officers.
The Publicity Committee
This will consist of any number of interested persons and will assist the
Publicity Chair in organizing and creating publicity materials for all SIGGRAPH
events. The Publicity Committee will be under the direct control of both the
President and the Publicity Chair. Main duties will include creating and
posting of promotional material.
The Projects Committee
This will consist of any number of interested persons and will assist the
Project Directors in setting up and running workshops, in addition, Projects
Committee members will be allowed to run smaller workshops (such as Radiance or
Render Man) on their own with the approval of the Project Directors. Projects
Committee members will also be made up of individuals with current projects
that the society may be interested in. These individuals will direct interested
members on what they can do to further these projects.
