About
Student Space Systems Fabrication Laboratory (S3FL) is a collaboration of three aerospace engineering design teams at the University of Michigan. Michigan Balloon Recovery and Satellite Testbed, the Robotic Exploration of Space Team, and Bluesat offer students practical, interdisciplinary experience through the design and development of exciting and applicable aerospace projects.
Our Mission
To provide practical, hands-on, interdisciplinary experience for students through the design and development of exciting aerospace projects. Coupling classroom knowledge with practicum experience involving real engineering design, analysis, test, fabrication, integration, and operation of actual flight vehicles and space payloads to enhance overall eduation.
Outreach and Professional Development
Our teams volunteer at FIRST Robotics competitions and host interactive aerospace activities for K-12 students at University of Michigan Aerospace Day. We support our own students in their professional development by offering resume reviews and workshops along with company information sessions and partnerships.
