Wolverines
post 4-1 record in Colorado
Michigan (14-3) had to defeat a
snowstorm before it even played a game in Colorado,
spending the early part of Friday doing some
spontaneous conditioning. The
Wolverines showed no signs of travel fatigue, dominating
both games on Friday afternoon against Denver and
Wyoming, winning by a combined 29 goals. As the snow
melted, the competition heated up on Saturday with
Michigan facing a pair of ranked teams in #10 BYU and #7
Colorado State. After earning a hard-fought 8-5 victory
over BYU, the Wolverines suffered their third loss of a
season, falling to the defending national champion and
tournament host, Colorado State 9-7. All of Michigan's
losses this season have come by two goals or fewer and
to teams ranked #2, #3, and #7.
The team closed out the weekend beating
#18 Minnesota 10-2 on Sunday morning before heading back
to Ann Arbor. The Wolverines will next be in action on
Thursday, April 9th in Grand Rapids, Michigan when they
take on Calvin.

Ann Arbor, Mich. -- After falling behind 3-1 early on, Michigan from behind to beat the visiting Michigan State Spartans 10-8 at Oosterbaan Fieldhouse in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines got on the board first but the Spartans countered with three unanswered goals. Michigan was able to stay in the game as the two teams traded goals throughout the first half. Emmy Scheidt replaced Mennen in the net for the second half and gave up three goals while making five saves. Sophomore Amanda Schutte (Encinatas, CA), Sophomore Britt Boehm (Cleveland, OH), and Junior Amy Johnson (Washington D.C.) each scored two goals while Boehm added a team-high three assists.
