This website is dedicated to the education of the native and popular music of the islands of Puerto Rico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic. To many Latin@s around the world, the music not only encompasses dance, but entire histories and cultures. “Latin music has evolved from a specific, geographically located style to one having multiple sites of articulation. Transcending geographic and cultural boundaries has been central to its affective power – its capacity as dance music to literally move thousands of people.”58
