Experimental

Found this in Walt's vent. We think it may be his recipe to his famous blue meth. Do you want to try it out?
Crude 13 (226 mg, 467.67 µmol) was dissolved in DCM (21.8 mL). Then neat DAST (57 µL, 431 µmol) was added dropwise at -78 ℃ with a microliter syringe. The reaction was allowed to stir for 3 minutes then removed from the cooling bath and warmed to 24 ℃. After 20 minutes, saturated aqueous NaHCO3 (20 mL) was used to quench the reaction. Then the product was extracted with DCM (25 mL x 4). The organic phases were combined and dried with Na2So4 and concentrated under vacuum to give a crude orange oil (267 mg). The oil was filtered using a 25 x 75 mm column of silica, eluting with 10% ethyl acetate/hexanes (100 mL) then with 30% ethyl acetate/hexanes (150 mL). The 150 mL of 30% ethyl acetate/hexanes filtrate was concentrated using a vacuum to give oxazoline 14, a white solid, (130 mg), which was used for the next reaction without further purification.
