Originally from Saline, Michigan, Neel is a senior in LSA majoring in biophysics, mathematics, and statistics. He is particularly interested in the intersection of chemical physics and biomedicine and hopes to pursue an MD/PhD to bridge theoretical research with clinical practice in infectious diseases. Currently, Neel is jointly advised by the Geva and Kotov groups (UM Chemical Engineering) where his research focuses on mathematical measures of chirality, the nonequilibrium classical and quantum dynamics of chiral systems, the interactions of chiral biomolecules, and mirror life. Outside of the lab, Neel's interests include mineralogy, classical numismatics, visiting new places, and spending time with friends and family (especially his dog, Sienna).
