I made a new preview movie for my EV plug-in incorporating the short movie of the fighter that used to be here. It's in QuickTime format and was created using Strata Vision 3d, and Strata VideoShop. Just click on the picture to view the movie (432K). If you want to download a better quality version to view from your computer, just go to the Downloads section.

I've finally completed all three ships that I wanted to make. There's now the fighter, frigate, and base ship. Spins, sprites, and id's are complete for the fighter and frigate, but I still need to create the sprites and masks for the base ship. Click the frigate preview to get an idea of things to come (640x480, 152K).

Here is my first try at making a ship for EV. The ship was created using Strata Vision 3d and the animated gif was constructed using GifBuilder.

You can also download an EV:Override startup screen. Just download the file from the Downloads section, uncompress it, and drop the StartupScreen into your System Folder. Looks best in at least 16-bit (thousands) colors or more.

The background of this page is a graphic from one of the read me files that came with my favorite plug-in for Escape Velocity. It's called EVGE (Escape Velocity Game Expander). It adds around 175 new systems, 23 ships, and 12 governments (just to name a few) to the existing EV universe. I've only dabble around with the plug just to get the feel of things. Without playing it too in depth, I already love the Aliens in this plug. Whole fleets of them just pop in and out of systems at random making you stay on your toes so as not to become "space toast". The other thing I like the most so far is the gas giants. These huge new planet graphics are pretty cool, especially the first time you encounter one.
