STAKEHOLDERS & SPONSORS

Since late 1999, UM researchers have been meeting with governmental officials and corporate and community leaders to determine the issues their organizations faced or were likely to face during the next decade. Additionally, they identified informational needs that might be met through the Detroit Area Study. The “issues” were then prioritized and survey questions were drafted. Subsequent meetings with key stakeholders resulted in question modification, testing, and ranking of importance. Early drafts of the questionnaire were reviewed with these stakeholders and subsequently modified. The final questionnaire reflects a collaborative effort between the University of Michigan and stakeholders. Key stakeholders who sponsored the study by providing financial support are noted with an asterisk*.
