Reading Assignments
Up Instructor Information Course Information Grading Exams Reading Assignments Written Assignments Tentative Schedule

EXPECTATIONS:

Most weeks several papers will be assigned. All students are expected to be "on top" of the assigned readings before the class at which the material is considered. Being "on top' of the material means that students are familiar with the information and conclusions presented in the texts, and are prepared to contribute to class discussion (i.e., summarize information and analyze implications). Class sessions will be used to organize, illustrate, expand, and interpret material, but not to reiterate it. Students are expected to bring questions and issues that need clarification to class. Therefore, it is necessary for students to come to class having read assigned material and completed homework. Not everything covered in the readings will be considered in class, but students will be expected to master material from both readings and classes.

AVAILABILITY:

Assigned readings will be available on electronic reserve (http://www.lib.umich.edu/libhome/Reserves/W99), as well as at Excel Course packs and Copies, which is above Ulrich at 1117 South University (996 – 1500).  Additional books will be suggested for extra credit book reviews. They will be available at local (e.g., Borders) and electronic (e.g.; http://www.amazon.com) bookstores, as well as at the University or Ann Arbor Public Library.
