The Executive Committee of Artemisia 1998 hopes that this conference will bring college and professional women together in an effort to learn from each other's past experiences and future visions. Recognizing that we come from diverse backgrounds and have different conceptions of feminism, this conference does not strive to arrive at a single conclusion or goal. Rather, it seeks to serve as a forum to share our thoughts and learn from our differences so that we may form a collective awareness and understanding of the issues that confront us as women entering the 21st century. To that end, we invite all members of the community to participate and empower themselves with knowledge.
