The 4D-MSPECT software application was developed at the University of Michigan Medical Center under the direction of James Corbett, MD and Edward Ficaro, ,PhD.    The program was released commercially in 2000 following 510k certification (K001026) from the FDA.  During the following 4 years, 4D-MSPECT quickly established itself as one of the leading software packages used by physicians reviewing nuclear cardiology exams.

As a result of the success with the nuclear cardiology community, the software development and support for 4D-MSPECT will leave the university setting to be handled by a new company, CF Imaging Solutons LLC in March 2005.  This company, a spinoff company from the University of Michigan, will retain the entire development and support staff involved with 4D-MSPECT from the University of Michigan.   The founding members of this company are James Corbett, MD and Edward Ficaro, PhD.   Dr James Corbett has over 25 years of experience in nuclear cardiology and was one of the founding research investigators in gated perfusion tomography.  He currently is the Director of Nuclear Cardiology at the University of Michigan Medical Center.  Dr Edward Ficaro has 14 years experience in nuclear cardiology with a primary focus on the algorithm development for modeling physiologic processes as a research scientist at the University of Michigan Medical Center.  In CF Imaging Solutions, Dr Corbett will direct clinical validation, while Dr Ficaro will focus on the technical development of new imaging and software products.  The company is  located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The vision of CF Imaging is to provide highly automated and accurate software solutions for medical diagnostic imaging.
