Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  1. When trying to find a curve that best fits a line, is the "equal area" method accurate? It would seem like the polynomial method would be more accurate.

One can use both equally well to find (-dCA/dt). The purpose of graphical method is also to show up disparities in the data.

  2. Why don't we just use POLYMATH regression instead of guessing the reaction order a's in the integral method? (Do we really need the integral method if we have POLYMATH?)

Use integral method when reaction order is known and you want k at different temperatures to determine activation energy.

  3. How do you linearize To solve for k and alpha?
