catalog?
The
library=s
catalog is called ALexcalibur@
and can be accessed on any of the computers located in the library.
2. Where can I store my personal items securely?
The
library does not provide a place where personal items can be stored.
It is recommended that you do not leave your belongings
unattended as there have been thefts.
3. Where are the copy rooms?
There
are copy rooms in the Core areas of Sub-1 and Sub-2, and in the
North wing of Sub-2. For more information, see Photocopier
Information.
4. Where can I get change?
A
change machine is located in the copy room in Sub-1.
5. Where are the water fountains located?
There
are water fountains at the North ends of Sub-1, Sub-2, and Sub-3.
6. Where can I get a photocopy card?
There
are Venda-Card machines located in the copy rooms on Sub-1 and
Sub-2, and in the Open Reserves area on Sub-2. For more

7. Where are the bathrooms?
Bathrooms
are located in the Core areas of each floor. The bathrooms
will be to your right as you face the Core.
8. Where are the public telephones and campus phones located?
There
are no public telephones in the library.
There are public telephones in the basement of the Legal
Research Building across from the Snack Bar.
There
is a campus phone located outside the student lounge in the basement
of Hutchins Hall.
9. Where are the telephone books?
There
is a telephone book for the Ann Arbor area located at the reference
desk, on Sub-1. Information
for other localities can be accessed at http://www.yellowpages.com
or http://www.whitepages.com.
10. Where can I use a cell phone?
To
keep the library quiet, please use cell phones outdoors, and turn
them off before entering the building.
11. Where is the quietest place to study?
The
entire library is a working library and should be quiet in order for
students to study in peace. However,
in general, the North end of Sub-1 is the quietest place to study.
12. Does the Library have typewriters for public use?
No,
however, there are typewriters located in the Serial Services area
on the 2nd Floor, South, of the Harlan Hatcher Graduate Library.
13. Where can I find a stapler, pencil sharpener, and a
three-hole punch?
These
items can be found in the copy rooms on Sub-1 and Sub-2.
14. Where is the reference desk?
The
reference desk is located in the Core area of Sub-1.
15. Where is the lounge?
There
is a study lounge is located in the Core area of Sub-3.
16. Where can I find copies of old exams?
Bound
volumes of old exams as well as copies of exams that professors put
on reserve, are located in the Open Reserves area in the Core of
Sub-2.
17. Where can I find the course reserves?
They
are located in the Core area of Sub-2.
Call numbers for course reserves material can be accessed via
Lexcalibur. For more

18. Where is the circulation desk?
The
circulation desk is located in the Core area of Sub-2.
19. Where are the elevators?
There
is an elevator in the Core area of each of the levels.
In addition, there is an elevator between the first floor of
the Legal Research Building and Sub-1 located at the bottom of the
stairs into the library.
20. Where are the e-mail only computers?
There
are e-mail only terminals located at the basement level of Legal
Research, adjacent to the stairs that lead into the library.
21. Where is the CALR room?
The
Computer Assisted Legal Research room is located in the Core area of
Sub-2.
22. Where are the electrical sockets in the study carrels?
They
are located under the shelves attached to the walls of the carrel.
23. Where can I use a laptop?
Members
of the Law School community who have wireless
ethernet cards provided by Law IT and whose computer &
keyboard have been silenced (routine for those with wireless cards),
and anyone else with a silent laptop, may use their personal laptop
computers anywhere in the Library.
For
those without silent laptops, we ask that you use your computer only
in the 16 carrels at the far West end of Sub-2 (closest to the Legal
Research Building) and at the tables in the Open Reserve area on
Sub-2.
Please
do not string cords across aisles.

the seminar room?
The
Registrar�s
Office handles the scheduling for the seminar room.
Please contact them if you have any questions.
