Parent or Guardian Illiteracy

Some children are learning to read in environments where no one is available to work with them on their reading skills because there is no one in the home, or other nurturing environment, who has mastered the concepts of basic reading skills themselves. There is no shame in such situations, but literacy assistance should be provided immediately to both the children and the adults who have not learned to read.
