Q & A - About Gymnastics and U-M

At what age did you start gymnastics?   9
How did you become involved in gymnastics?   My younger sister, Jackie, was in it, so then I started.
What is your favorite event? Why?   Bars

What attracted you to the University of Michigan?   Great education, awesome gymnastics team. It was the closest feeling to home without being there
What is it like competing for U-M?   Love it! It is so much fun and a great honor to be a part of such a talented and supportive team.
What has been your most memorable (gymnastics) moment at U-M?   Spring Break 2003! Beat Denver at Denver and received our first 197! Then, we went on to beat Utah at Utah! Spent 10 days with the team. Also, winning the AA in my first college meet.
What has been your most memorable (non-gymnastics) moment at U-M?   After a disappointing meet, I usually tell myself that everyone has a bad meet and it is good to have one so you can get it out of your system. I just try to stay positive.

What inspires you to keep going after a disappointing meet or a tough week of practice?   ..
What advice would you share with up-and-coming gymnasts who aspire to be like you or one of your teammates?   I would tell them that competing for the U of M is a great experience.
